Salvatore Fichera, MS
Exercise Physiologist / Cert. Personal Trainer

Exercise physiologist and certified personal fitness trainer, Sal Fichera, has been studying, practicing and teaching the benefits of proper exercise and nutrition for more than 30 years. His approach is one that blends holistic philosophy with cutting edge scientific research. He provides health seminars, one-on-one fitness training, nutritional consulting and calisthenics to loyal and satisfied clients.

In addition to providing instruction for those seeking training certification, Fichera has also lectured at health clubs, universities and corporations on the East and West coasts covering topics such as cross-training, abdominal conditioning, fat-burning and other fitness-related issues. He taught a continuing education course for senior citizens on weight training at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY).

Fichera has held the following credentials: MS degree in exercise physiology, Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and personal trainer certifications through AIFE Older Adult Fitness and ACE. He served as an ACE spokesperson and his professional affiliations included the American College of Sports Medicine, National Strength and Conditioning Association and the Association for Fitness Professionals (IDEA). He also served as board member of a New York chapter of Toastmasters International, a public speakers association.

In addition to being a published author of the book, Stop Aging – Start Training, and the author of numerous fitness articles, he was also a valuable source for media professionals as they relied on his expertise on a wide range of health and fitness issues. He made multiple appearances on TV and contributed to publications including Muscle and Fitness, Cosmopolitan, Shape, Good Housekeeping, Fitness Management, WebMD.com, and Healthgate.com.

Fichera developed a reputation for inspiring his audiences to take action – action that can ultimately lead to a more healthy, youthful lifestyle.
